Hi,
Sorry if this is slight off topic.... I own a house with my ex partner. I dont live in the property after the break up. I moved out on the 1st of Jan 2009. She pays the full mortgage. I wanted my name off the deeds and mortgage as soon as I moved out though she declined as she didnt want the burden of it all being in her name. Is there any way I can 'forcibly' (sounds a bit strong) remove myself from the mortgage and deeds via a solicitor? Council Tax records will show that I am not living in the property and the mortgage company will have record that the mortgage payments are from her account? The property is on the market and has been since jan 2009 with no offers at all! Thanks in advance Anth |

Thanks in advance Anth Hi, you should be able to relinguish all rights to the property, which also means when the property is sold you have no rights to any monies from the sale, this is one for an expert and would advise you to see a solicitor who specialises in property, no doubt there will be legal jargon that has to be put on paper which only a solicitor can draw up, sorry can not estimate a cost of this process |
