Am new here and like it already! I'd like it even more if someone could anser me question. Some properties, like repossessed ones, are often sold at the property auctions. Are these considered as good investment opportunity?

It seems to me that if price, location and condition of the property are right, then it could turn out to be a very prudent investment!

Consider houses as a medium to long term investment.Despite going to auction, the mortgagees in possesion will want their money back,so they will not be sold for peanuts.
Most auctioneers are good. Some are thieves, beware. Also remember that buying at auction normally requires cash payment on the day of the auction. Getting a full survey done is expensive.Do you really want to pay for a survey, only to be outbid on the day? Do your sums, stick to your budget. Having said all that,it is a buzz. Enjoy the ride, and good luck. |
