Hi all! I would be quite interested to read your informed opinions on commercial properties? i guess commercial properties are also going down in value. If one is thinking in investing in property market, are commercial properties worth any consideration at the moment? unsure.gif

My opinion, i'm afraid, is not informed but more observational. Recently there were a lot of business parks built just outside town centres or facing the river banks. Quite a few of them now seem to stand empty. If I had money, i would not be investing in commercial property. smile.gif

its a difficult one: on one hand some businesses are winding down due to the downturn and it wouldnt seem wise to invest in commercial properties. on the other hand such business as good value retail or food ventures should do well and may be worth investing too. best to do you homework then before considering investing in this sector.

Read somewhere last week that commercial properties market is really suffering in this recession. A lot of business properties stand empty in the town centres as rents there are too high so businesses that are still viable, are moving outside of the town centres. As often happens in business (or life!) what's bad news for some is good news for others wink.gif

Well, it seems that commercial market is starting to recover. As recovery is likely to be slow, there may still be some bargains out there wink.gif
