Could you please tell me what credit rating agencies are there in UK apart from Experian? Do they all hold the same information on you? How does bank decide which one to use? My partner had a little hitch with his credit report from Experian and i was wondering whether to make some enquiries with other agencies.

I'm aware of two others apart from Experian: Equifax and Callcredit. I would have thought all three would have more or less the same information.

Its possible to raise a notice of dispute with the relevant credit rating agency. i guess if you found an error with one of the agencies, its worth checking with the other two to ensure they dont hold the same incorrect info.

Just in case, you need to request a copy of the info held on you by the cra in question. The report costs £2 and should be made available within 7 days.

Just to add to what's already been said: once you disputed incorrect info with the cra, they have 28 days in which to action the corrections.

Could you please clarify whether its a set fee with any of the above mentioned agencies? For some reason i assumed that it costs a bit more than a couple of quid. cheers |
