hi im new on site and would like some feed back on my queery, well we were with an agent for 1 year and have never signed a contract with him,just befor before we ditched him,they introduced a couple who want to buy our house ,we rejected their offer ,but after we ditched the agent they came back to us and upped their offer and we accepted ,not having signed a contract agreement with the estate agent do we have to pay them their commission thanks

Hi,
It is not an easy question. By moral conduct, they have untroduced this buyer and should be paid, but if they are not acting as agents now and you do it through solicitors without them, I can see why you wouldn't want to pay them, escpecially if you had a dispute before. Don't really know if they can go after you, perhaps it is better to speak to your conveyancing solicitor.
