I was passing one of the local estate agents on the way to work and noticed that they are offering would-be tenants one month rent-free. It would probably be a good idea to discuss what other incentives letting agents and landlords use to attract their tenants. What works, what doesnt?

What a coincidence! I was talking to a chap on the phone about smth else and he was telling me that he moved into a 2 bed-room house couple of weeks ago. He paid deposit and first month rent, but his landlord gave him £100 back. Small good-will gesture, but the chap was over the moon thinking he landed himself the best landlord ever!
