Basically i ended it with my ex some 8 weeks ago - this was after paying for an all inclusive trip to Egypt with her. The price per person was £730. She was the lead passenger and therefore had all the power with the booking, although i gave her a portion of amount in cash i also paid £350 on my debit card, she would not cancel the holiday but agreed to sell my ticket to someone else for an agreed amount of £450, i have records of all comms between us proving i have paid.

I have remained in contact with her and she confirmed she would be getting me some money back as there was no need to end the relationship on a bad note...

Anyway the holiday is the end of this week, she has cut off all communication/ ties to me. I called the travel agents as i have the confirmation / booking ref code and was told my name had been removed and instead her friend was now travelling in my place...

Im so angry, it seems i am powerless to do anything, i think its ridiculous how can someone take my holiday without paying a penny, the travel agents dont care and considering there's records of my debit card being used surely she has committed some sort of fraud here?

i have tried to be fair with her, but this is her way of getting me back for ending things....

Hi, to be honest, I doubt if there is much you can do, she has not refused to pay you your half of the money back,(wether she intends to or not). If you can get back to communicating try to ask her to put a time frame on when she will refund you, if she agrees then that will give you something to work on regarding claiming back lost monies through a small claims court or you could be lucky with just a letter from a solicitor. It may cost you in the short term or failling that, put it down to bitter experience.
