Personally I welcome the news. Last year I sold a property, I got a HIPS report and I felt they undervalued the property. I was told by the estate agent that it was a difficult market and although they agreed they thought the report had undervalued the price, they though I should go with what they said. The alternative was to pay for another HIPS report, which may turn out the same.
I took the advice of the estate agent and put the property up for sale at the HIPS report price. The property was sold in 4 days, which just confirmed my suspicion that it was undervalued. I was mad!! Good riddance to HIPS - let the market decide the price. |
