On the topic of credit rating, i would like to know what useful tips you may have on how to improve one's rating, tips on what should be avoided, etc.

Oh no, not a senior moment, Lisa? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) just kidding. They say that not having any credit cards and no direct debits set up, is likely to count against you as far as credit rating is concerned. It does seem bizzare but rational behind this is to ascertain you ability to keep up payments. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Another tip: if you no longer use one particular creit card and the balance there is nil, try to close that a/c. Having too many credit card can also have an impact.

Just thought of another tip (took me whole 8 months (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ). Living at the same address for some time may help.
