People also look at investing in land because it is considered that the residential property market is overheated and because of the government's housing proposals to "concrete over" the greenbelt.Farmers are still the major buyers and sellers of land, recognising the long-term investment value as well as the short-to-medium term gains to be had, for example by producing traditional crops, bio fuels or entering the agri-environmental sectors which are part and parcel of everyday farming.
