When you comes towards the end of your tenancy agreement and decide to move out, is it ok not to pay rent for the last month? Your landlord (LL) has your deposit which usually equals one months rent anyway.

Am not 100% sure but think you were able to get away with this when there was no deposit scheme in place. Tenants used to do it because they knew it would be impossible to get their bonds back. But if your deposit is secure, whats the point of doing it?

I believe its risky too. As a tenant you are liable for the rent payments and theres nothing to stop your landlord from taking you to court for non-payment of rent.
