Every day several estate agents are going out of business as house sales continue to be very low. Some of these agents are trying to diversify and convert to lettting agency or employ someone to deal with lettings. I wonder if anybody has been affected by a closure of an estate agent.

It's sad but kinda invevitable when there are less houses up for sale. I do hope that they will find the way to keep afloat by diversifying, etc. I also hope that if before some estate agents' valuation used to be too high, they will not try and down value properties too much to secure a quick sale.

was it not on the news last year that it was expected that by the end of 2008, a third of the uk estate agents will go out of business? i wonder if there was any follow up since that research to see whether those predictions were correct.
