Hi everyone,

I’m not a newbie but not a professional investor either. I’m thinking about attending some courses or seminars, but I’m not sure whether it justifies my money, as they’re pretty expensive. It would be great to find an experienced BTL investor or mentor who could work with me. On the other hand, I can learn from self-help investment books or find a wealth of information on the net. What is best – self-help or professional mentors?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
The first option is definitely better and will cost you less. Fortunately, there are many great property investment websites where you can find useful information about nearly every aspect of buy to let and do your own research! You can learn an awful lot without spending a penny!
Good luck! wink.gif

Hi Julie,

I'm a big advocate of the mentor system, there are some great schemes out there, but they can be really costly too. You can learn loads of stuff by going to the right property networking meetings etc

There are also quite few people who give their stuff away for free so research it a bit...

check this website out http://www.trafalgarsq.co.uk/index.html

I know for a fact that these guys run a free afternoon seminar cos I went on one last summer (just 6 of us) and learned loads. Plus they can give you advice on seeking further training.

good luck

Tim
