My tenant moved out of the property, with rent arrears, and stole my property. i have reported the matter to the police but they say there is no evidence. The council housed her and refuse to give her forwarding address and she owes more than 5 months rent . I was in the process of evicting her through the courts. She aklso defaced the property.
has anyone had this kind of problem before if so how can i get hold of her? |

Have the police actually investigate it to conclude there is no evidence? Would you insurance policy (if you had one, of course) cover for the missing contents? I understand that council does not want to give you their tenants forwarding address, but would have thought that they'd have a duty to court to co-operate? Perhaps im wrong, but would like to know as similar problems do occur.

There are also firms that offer tenants tracking service. It may be worth checking these out for future reference, especially if the could offer kind of 'no find no fee' service.

I'd hate to be in your situation and hope it gets resolved. Did you have a property inventory signed by tenant? Surely this could be a form of evidence for the police.
