When HMOs were discussed in other topics there was a mentione of separate household. What is, in housing terms, considered a separate household? Will two flatmates sharing the same flat but within a house consisting of lets say 3-4 flats be seen as two single households or one?

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think a single household means that you are members of the same family, ie husband/wife, partner, parents, kids, etc...
