Important Buy to Let Conference to Be Held in November

The National Landlords Association National Conference, which is to be held this year in Birmingham, will feature a presentation to landlords made by a Member of Parliament, Mr. Ian Austin, currently taking the post of Parliamentary under Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government. As Ian Austin MP is oftentimes referred to as “buy to let minister”, since he is the one who is controlling the buy to let sector in the UK, British landlords and the organisers of the upcoming conference are expecting him to comment on Government’s proposals associated with the buy to let sector and landlords policies. The National Landlords Association National Conference will be held on the 20th and 21st of November 2009 (Friday and Saturday) in Holiday Inn located in Birmingham City. Apart from Mr. Ian Austin, other organisations and institutions to participate in the National Landlords Association National Conference 2009 are:

  • University of Sheffield (speaker – Mr. Tony Crook, professor of housing studies)
  • Shelter (speaker – Ms. Caroline Davey, deputy director of policy and campaigns)
  • Association of Residential Letting Agents, ARLA (speaker – Mr. Ian Potter, operations manager)
  • Business Development Research Consultants, BDRC (speaker – Mr. Mark Long, director).
In the opinion of National Landlords Association’s chairman, Mr. David Salusbury, the speech of Mr. Ian Austin will be particularly important and pleasant as a large number of British landlords have their questions to ask Mr. Austin in relation to the latest governmental proposals. Mr. Salusbury also revealed the veil of darkness over the conference’s structure. According to him, this year, the National Landlords Association National Conference will feature not only speeches made by key figures of the buy to let industry, but also work sessions led by buy to let experts. The sessions are expected to cover various aspects of the buy to let business, starting from inventories choice and tax planning and ending with letting agents’ management. Mr. Salusbury, thus, concluded that all UK landlords who are taking their buy to let business seriously should not miss this conference in November.
