Investors Prefer German Commercial Property to British Real Estate

The latest report published by CB Richard Ellis suggests that property investors prefer real estate in Germany to commercial property in UK.

The reason for this is house prices that have risen the fastest.

As such, 32% of investors surveyed at MIPIM exhibition in Cannes said that they plan to invest in German property in 2011. This compares to only 18% in 2010.

The proportion of those, who are ready to invest in UK property, decreased by half, down from 31% in 2010.

The report clearly stated that "the UK led the European market recovery in both transaction volumes and property values from the low point in 2009, but the survey revealed that investor attention is starting to turn elsewhere..."

CBRE report was based on a survey of 350 real estate investors from Europe. The survey was held at European Investment Briefing in the framework of MIPIM 2011.

MIPIM 2011 exhibition is being held in Cannes, France from March, 8th to March 11th. Business hours are: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Tuesday through Thursday), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Friday).
