Conveyancing Quality Scheme to Be Introduced Soon

The Law Society will make the life of UK conveyancers even harder in the coming year as it will launch a conveyancing quality scheme (CQS) to help homesellers and homebuyers make competent choices.

CQS will be awarded to those conveyancing firms that provide services and advice of high standards.

The introduction of the quality scheme by the Law Society is approved by such leading organisations as the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML), the Building Societies Association (BSA) and the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

Commenting on the coming changes, Ms. Lee - president of the Law Society - said that the new scheme will allow UK consumers "to identify quality conveyancing practices in a crowded and sometimes confusing market" by highlighting the professionalism of marked solicitors.

Paul Broadhead of BSA, Jackie Bennett of CML and Andrew Baddeley-Chappell of ABI warmly welcomed the move by saying that it will make the “home-buying process simpler” will have a “positive impact on the house buying and selling industry.”
