Oakley Residential Announces Its Merger with Whiteheads Residential Lettings

Oakley Residential, an estate agency, which has offices in Sussex, plans to merge with an letting agency called Whiteheads Residential Lettings; the merger will be trading under the banner of Oakley Residential Lettings. Anthony Whitehead, who is recognized as a leading authority on the residential lettings market in Brighton and Hove, was appointed the lettings director of the new-born Oakley Residential Lettings. Chris Oakley, who now takes the post of the managing director at Oakley Residential, stated that the two companies are excited about the merger of their businesses and believe that the combination of Oakley experience in the estate sector and Whiteheads experience in the lettings sector will allow the company to offer its clients the best services in the area. Mr. Whitehead, who is to be in charge of the lettings department at Oakley Residential Lettings, added that the credit crunch has seriously altered the residential lettings sector in the UK. According to Whitehead, landlords are now looking for reputable and professional agents. He said the strength of the new merger is in the reassurance that the business is thoroughly regulated by RICS (the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), by ARLA (the Association of Residential Letting Agents), and by NAEA (the National Association of Estate Agents). Whiteheads Residential Lettings has been a NAEA member since 1995, while Mr. Whitehead has been running his residential letting business since the 1980’s. Recently, Mr. Whitehead worked as a consultant: he has been advising estate agents on the matter of residential lettings, training industry professionals in London and the South East; moreover, he participated in the development of a software database on residential lettings.
