Sales Agreed by Estate Agents Go Up

The figures, disclosed yesterday, May 18th, by the the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) suggest that UK estate agents have sold 10 properties each in April, which is more than in amy other month since October 2007.
The figure is 2 properties more than in March and 5 properties more than in August 2008.
Figures from Globrix, which were also released yesterday, show that the reason for an increased number of agreed sales is the return of sellers on the property and 100,000 new listed properties.
Peter Bolton King, chief executive at the NAEA, claimed that as for now, the data is showing a consistent improvement in the property market. He added that despite the fact that 6 months mass media was talking about a changed attitude of the British towards property owning, NAEA has always been determined that the demand for property would stay strong, unlike consumer confidence.
However, Daniel Lee, chief executive at Globrix stated that it would be too foolish to believe that the return of buyers and sellers means the bottom of the market; he added that rough waters, which will significantly influence the economic climate in the UK, are still ahead. He said the return of sellers onto the property market can be explained by an increase in buyers’ activity and sellers’ desire to market their properties.
All in all, Globrix rating has found that Leamington Spa and Warwick were at the top of the property list with the greatest percentage of new listings, while Bristol and Birmingham were also included in the Top 20.
