First-time Buyers Need Help – Bellway Plc.

Bellway Plc, UK-based property development firm specialising in construction of houses for first-time buyers, posted its statement yesterday, on February 7th.

According to the statement, the company sold more properties in the 6 months through January than a year earlier. The number of sold houses stands at 2,332 in 2011 as compared to 2,247 (3.8% rise). The average price of a typical house purchased by UK first-time buyers also increased. It now reaches 168,000 pounds (8% rise).

Commenting on the figures, Mr. Alistair Leitch said that the British government should do its best to make banks increase mortgage lending to first-time buyers who represent the most vulnerable group of borrowers. He highlighted that "clearly not all first-time buyers have the bank of mum and dad behind them or 15,000 to 20,000 pounds sitting around waiting for a deposit to be put on something."

Current deals on first-time buyer mortgages can be viewed on comparison websites, which represent a great source for those looking to compare interest rates in UK.
