House Insurance Might Be Different in Summer

Hiscox, specialist UK insurance company, reminded all Brits to pay attention to their gardens as it is not only the temperature that rises in summer, but also the cost of outdoor possessions.
The research carried out by the company revealed that 21% of Brits have expensive outdoor items, whereas 53% confirmed they will plant valuable bushes and trees this summer. Further 11% admitted they own expensive garden art and/or sculptures, 17% of respondents have fountains and 12% store their sporting equipment outdoor.
Commenting on the findings, Austyn Tusler of Hiscox, said that "garden items, including water features, sports equipment, sculptures and furniture, can add up to a significant sum, exposing homeowners who neglect appropriate insurance cover to a potentially hefty financial hit."
He also highlighted that although these items are very easy to overlook, it is essential that they are included in home insurance cover.
