UK House Prices in Seaside Towns Skyrocket

According to a recent research carried out by Halifax, house prices in UK rose by 128% in the past decade. Of course, this was true not for all types of properties, but for seaside town houses only.
It is interesting to note that almost all of the high-end properties were located on the southern shore.
The relatively affordable houses, priced at 360-370,000 pounds were found in the coastal resort area Wadebridge (Surrey) and Fowey (Cornwall). They were followed by houses in Padstow (Cornwall) priced at 380,000 pounds. Finally, the most expensive houses were located in Sandbanks, Dorsetshire. The prices in the town range from 530,000 to 13,5 million pounds.
Commenting on the findings, Mr. Nitesh Patel of Halifax said that "seaside towns have always been popular places to live, but they have perhaps become even more so in recent years. The 270% increase in Wadebridge in Cornwall is notable, but prices have seen big rises in coastal towns across northern England and Wales too."
