Scottish Investor Sets Up a Commercial Property Fund

While many property lenders and investors are determined that the credit crunch puts unbearable pressures on them, some entrepreneurs, such as Brian Gillies, believe that it is just the right time for setting up a business. Having a firm belief that the predictions, associated with the recovery of the UK property in 2009, will come true, a Scottish entrepreneur has launched the Alchemist Commercial Property Fund. The Fund aims to raise at least £30 million to invest in commercial property, as Mr. Gillies is determined that commercial property is now the most favourable type of assets for investors. He mentioned that low interest rates and comparatively high rent rates might signify a lucrative return to the initial investment. Mr. Gillies revealed that at first the Alchemist Commercial Property Fund will concentrate on properties that are for urgent sale by organizations and individuals. He added that at the moment many banks and property owners are eager to lower the property prices in order to sell the property quickly. The plan is to purchase properties in prime locations and to further let them to dependable tenants. At the moment, Mr. Gillies is looking for partners – investors who are able to commit a minimum of £50,000. Let us remind, that according to recent report UK property values have decreased by 50% compared to 2007, which provides investors like Mr. Gillies with viable investment opportunities.
