UK Farmers Interested in Renewable Energy Sources

An opinion poll carried out by Knight Frank, a real estate agency, showed that UK farmers have now more reasons to be cheerful.
As land prices have started to increase again and tax breaks have been introduced by the Government, landowners are planning to take advantage of new revenue streams from renewable energy.
More than 90% of respondents said that they are planning to install some type of new renewable energy technology (solar panels, wind turbines, etc.) to increase their income. As such, Mr. Smith of Knight Frank said that 2 wind turbines can help raise the annual income of a farm by £250 per acre. On top of that, the British Government introduced feed-in-tariffs (FITS) for electricity produced with renewable energy sources. They are, definitely, another reason why farmers want to turn to new technologies.
The poll performed by Knight Frank suggests that 8% of landowners are already using renewable energy sources, which means that the proportion of UK farmers who are not interested in it is 2%.
