Good News for Hull Landlords

Hull residential property landlords are being informed that they might be eligible for installation of gas central heating in their buy to let properties at reduced rates under the gas central heating scheme offering discounts. The discounted gas central heating scheme is one of the support measures undertaken by the Hull City Council. The scheme is being offered on the Council’s website as a response to current economic downturn. The scheme is being offered by the Hull City Council in partnership with Hull Warm Zone; it offers residential landlords discounts of up to 50% of the initial price of central heating installation, however the exact price will be calculated on the basis of property size. Average savings on installation are as follows: £1,350 on a 1-bedroom property, £1,420 on a 2-bedroom property, £1,660 on a 3-bedroom property and £2,070 on a 4-bedroom property. Also, the Council offers grants for replacement of broken boilers beyond economic repair. To qualify for a grant, landlord’s buy to let property must meet the following criteria: -    Reasonable state of repair -    Legal housing standard -    Modern services and  facilities -    Reasonable warmth degree
