Greenberg Traurig LLP expands to London

Greenberg Traurig LLP, international law company, announced that it’s going to enter the London market. For that purpose, a new UK firm was formed under the name Greenberg Traurig Maher LLP. The founding member and a chairman of this new company is Paul Maher, who will also act as a co-chairman of the global mergers and acquisitions practice.
Previously Maher was a global vice chairman at Mayer Brown and also the senior partner of Rowe&Maw. He led the merger of those two companies about seven years ago and later he helped Mayer Brown to move into Asian market via its merger with Johnston Stokes&Master.
The President of Greenberg Traurig says that today’s situation is quite difficult and challenging for many clients, but the company has solution-oriented, diverse and nimble platform to meet customers’ demand today and in the future.
The company sees London as a key to its’ global strategy, and therefore the personality of a leader was very important. Paul Maher has been in business for a long time, he fits culturally and hopefully he’ll become the right leader.
Undoubtedly, Maher’s favourite field is corporate law, and he is very experienced in cross-borded mergers and acquisitions work. He provided with legal advice a lot of domestic and international clients working in many different spheres, such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, financial services, international services, retail and communications.
Despite having several perfect options, Maher chose Greenberd Traurig for the firm’s global ambition, quality, balance in its practices and locations, good financial management, strategic vision and culture.
Since the beginning of 2009, the company’s experienced considerable strategic growth as it added more than 40 lateral shareholders in some key areas, including restructuring, corporate and securities, healthcare law, intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate, financing, and tax.
