British Pets Are Fed Human Food - Petplan

A recent research performed by Petplan, one of the leading pet insurance companies in the United Kingdom, found out that 80% of Brits feed their pets human food.
The survey carried out among 10,500 pet owners showed that pets are being fed anything from luxury foods like duck breast and veal scampolini to fast foods like burgers, fish and chips and Chinese takeaway dinners. On top of that, 20% of pet owners allow their pets to lick plates after dinner.
Commenting on the findings of Petplan research, Mr. Hewitt, a renowned British vet, said that he is concerned with the way Brits treat their pets. He claims that certain foods like chocolate, onions, grapes, raisins, etc. are dangerous for pets. Not only can they lead to obesity and other health problems, but also might result in fatalities.
His words are confirmed by the statement of Mrs. Andrew, marketing manager at Petplan, who claimed that the number of health-related claims, such as obesity, diabetes, etc. has increased significantly in the past years.
