Brits Prefer Pet Insurance to Health Insurance

One of the latest researches carried out by Tesco Pet Insurance, a leading UK provider of pet health cover, showed that the vast majority of Brits care about their pets' health more than they do about their own. As such, only 36% of respondents have health cover for themselves, whereas 46% are pet insurance policyholders.
Answering on the question “What would you sacrifice to pay for treatment of their pets”,
- 47% of owners said they will stop going out
- 29% of owners said they will not go for a holiday
- 21% of owners said they will cancel their gym membership
- 7% of owners said they will purchase pet cover instead of personal health insurance
According to Mr. Miller, a vet, mots Brits consider pets as members of the family, which explains their care for fury pals. He also added that Brits are used to making regular trips to the vet.
It is interesting to note that Britain's reputation as a nation of pet lovers is being proved by numerous reports, which suggest that approximately 50% of country's residents own a pet.
