The Co-op Offers 25% Off Pet Insurance

In an effort to help UK pet owners safeguard their pets this summer, the Co-operative now offers all its pet insurance policies with a 25% discount. This deal, which was made effective on July 1st, only applies to online purchases.

Now, dog insurance is available from as low as 8.18 pounds a month, and cat insurance - from 4.84 pounds a month.

Lee Mooney of the Insurance Department at the Co-operative said that the summer heat might be dangerous for pets. Lee Mooney commented that "humans are increasingly bombarded with summer health dos and don'ts, but pet owners do not have the same luxury" and might overlook some things.

The Co-operative gives some advice to pet owners who want to keep their pets safe in the sun:ensure there is enough water for the pet

• always keep food fresh and clean the bowls thoroughly
• groom your pet
• never leave the pet in the car
• try to walk your pet in the morning and in the evening to avoid heat
