Davenport Lyons Practice Is Followed by ASC: Law

Earlier this year, the consumer group Which? has reported that a solicitors firm Davenport Lyons have been sending out “bullying” letters to people. Which? has even sent a formal complaint to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA). The “bullying” letters were sent to file-sharers, who, according to the Davenport Lyons data, have been illegally sharing and downloading files on the internet; the letters demanded the accused file-sharers to pay a £500 compensation for copyright infringement. However, recently, Davenport Lyons claimed that is was finished with the work, associated with illegal file-sharing. Somehow, apparently a new firm, ASC: Law, is now taking the Davenport Lyons niche. It has been reported that the firm has been sending out letters that resemble the ones by Davenport Lyons. However, the latter refuses to admit any links between the two companies, financial or otherwise. Despite all of the Davenport Lyons’ claims, ASC: Law letters, sent en masse, are written in just the same fashion as its “predecessor’s” ones and also do target innocent people oftentime.
