Tenants Better Served with GHA
86% of tenants believe that they are being better served under the Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) rather than with the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council. That is why housing associations around the city voted to stay within GHA and ignored any plans associated with the move to second stage transfer. Some 86% of tenants believe they are better served by remaining with GHA. GHA is a large organization that delivers changes to housing stock, which is being managed, or rather mismanaged, by housing officials of the city council. GHA enabled tenants to take control over benefits to local people, who live in social housing as well as over a new 24/7 customer service centre, where all issues of tenants are dealt with real promptly. Also, GHA has brought around a revolution in repairs and Homechoice. The new governance policy is supposed to involve tenants’ control over property issues. However, the new policy is being attacked by politicians and councilors. The funds, which earlier were invested into GHA’s activity as well as into houses and properties, are now under threat.
